How can I help?

 

This is the single most asked question since we announced PyBay!  We love this community!

 

What keeps your organizers up at night is staying positive in our cash flow while having good content, feeding the attendees well given the shocking cost of catering, and securing good technologies.

 

So, please:

1. Follow us on Twitter.  Spread the word on social media with #pybay2016.  Post news about PyBay to the mailing lists you belong to!​

2. Ask your manager to pay for your ticket (they’ll like that they can save on traveling costs)

3. Email Grace Law with names and contact info of people that may be interested in sponsoring PyBay

What does the conference registration cover?

 

Aside from what’s advertised in the program, your PyBay ticket includes a drink ticket and light hors d'oeuvres at Friday’s opening party; light continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday; and a conference T-shirt and goodies from conference sponsors. The more underwriting we receive from sponsors, the more we can offer back to you. Aside from more drink tickets and better food options, we’re also hoping to secure sponsors who will provide you with free massages during the conference.

Can I volunteer or receive financial aid?

​

Yes!  We're creating 20 work-trade positions.  You will wear a conference crew T-shirt during your shifts and help with:

​

• Stuffing conference swag bags (Friday starting at 10am)

• Room hosting for ~3 sessions: speaker intro, Q&A, audio/tech support for sessions (we’ll try to accommodate your session preferences)

• Shifts at registration desks / hacker space / ask me / decorations set up / take down, misc

Work-trade staff pays 1/3 of early bird individual price for admission to PyBay.  Please apply for a work-trade position here.  If you're accepted, you'll pay $200 for your ticket, then after you perform the tasks you agree to at the conference, we'll refund you $100.  If you just want to help and don't care about lowering your ticket price, please indicate so in your application as well!   Thank you!
